TRISH JANES
I am a BACP registered and Accredited Counsellor based in Brighton. I have been working for 25 years as a counsellor in private practice. I am also a qualified and experienced supervisor.
In sessions I create a safe boundaried relationship with clients. This allows for us to work together to aid support, emotional healing and to nurture potential future growth.
I work from a person centred theory place, where I believe you are the expert on what causes you pain. My role is to offer a warm non judgemental honest and empathic space and I will be there alongside you to explore the issues you choose to bring to the room.
I also offer creative methods to be used in sessions such as art, sandtray, and objects work etc for those clients who are interested in working creatively. This can often help to access hidden feelings and can be really therapeutic.
I have extensive experience as a counsellor and have worked with most areas of counselling.
I have also worked with: abuse (including CSA), anger, anxiety, trauma, loss and bereavement. I also work with health related issues including cancer and coming to terms with a long term disability.
I have experience of working with couples who’ve experienced miscarriage & birth trauma and stillbirth
I work from a trauma-informed base with many of these issues to create a safe space for you to explore any issues, with me alongside you

I work face-to-face in Patcham (Brighton BN1). I also work online and on the phone.
